The first release of 2023 on Serene Wood Sound is the new album 'The Part of All Its Sums' by T_A_M.

The album, T_A_M's third full length effort to date, sees the Scottish producer making another sharp U-turn in sound from all his previous work.

The 8 tracks here trade in the whirring, overdriven torchlit electronica found on 2021s 'Local Ghost' LP for a pared back mix of acoustic guitar, accordion, midi strings and synth.

The relatively traditional instrumentation might suggest a turn towards singer-songwriter or folky territory but the music here is presented in a loose, ramshackle fashion. Impromptu jams recorded with a single mic are processed, mangled, degraded and looped up to hypnotic effect with a slant towards the sombre and occasionally psychedelic.
